GreenBy3 speaks to Aiken Fellows at College of Charleston

GreenBy3’s founder and president Jorge Riano spoke to the William Aiken Fellows Society and Honors College students at the College of Charleston recently. It was an opportunity for the students to learn about what GreenBy3 does and how they can get involved with the company through internships. GreenBy3’s internships aren’t your typical internships. Students are given great responsibility within the company, which gives them the chance to gain real world experience. At the same time, GreenBy3 believes in offering students the opportunity to really explore doing something they are interested in. “We’ll create something that matches what you want to do,” Riano told the students. Trisha Folds-Bennett, PhD explained she invited Riano to speak to the students because of the way he’s brought a lot of ideas and passions together in a business model. The company is poised for growth serving the building and renovation needs of companies in the Charleston area, specializing in assisting businesses within the technology sector. Riano explained to the students that GreenBy3 oversees construction...

PeopleMatter’s Headquarters Honored by Historic Charleston Foundation

CHARLESTON, SC — APR. 30, 2014 — PeopleMatter proudly announces that it was awarded the Historic Charleston Foundation’s coveted Robert N.S. and Patti Foos Whitelaw Founders Award for the renovation of 466 King Street, the PeopleMatter headquarters in Charleston, SC.  Honored during the Foundation’s Charter Day ceremony on April 29, the award recognizes the preservation of Charleston’s streetscapes and buildings. “I cannot express how proud I am that the restoration of our headquarters was honored by the Historic Charleston Foundation,” said Nate DaPore, PeopleMatter President and CEO. “I had a vision of the workspace I wanted to build for our team members – one that’s warm and welcoming with a high-tech, open floor plan and located in the center of historic Charleston. The building at 466 King Street was the ideal location, set on Upper King Street and surrounded by great restaurants and shops. Transforming the once dilapidated building into a modern state-of-the-art center, while preserving its historic value, was a challenge. We’re proud to have these revitalization efforts...

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. — After seven years of success, The Free Clinics’ (TFC’s) annual Spring Salon has become known around town as an unparalleled event. A celebration of fine food, fine wine, and fine design, all in the name of providing access to high quality health care for those in need, the Salon has emerged as the signature event for the local nonprofit, and a party not to missed. A few short months ago, however, the prospects for this year’s Salon didn’t look good. “In December we found out that our longtime hosts, Salon Blue Ridge, were closing,” explains Judith Long, Executive Director of TFC. Salon Blue Ridge sold luxury kitchen and bath fixtures and appliances, and their owners decided to close their Hendersonville location....

GreenBy3 at Dig South

What are you doing and where are you going? These are very  important questions to the owner of a business that is in the throes of growth. However, many business owners become overwhelmed with all the questions that must be asked  when they are looking for office space. What kind of location do you want? What are your technology needs? Where do your employees live? What kind of flexibility do you need in a lease? What kind of up-fits are needed to allow your company to continue to grow? What do you need to anticipate so you can set up your space to grow with your company? And perhaps more importantly: How do you continue to grow your business when you are trying to answer all of these questions – and more? GreenBy3’s  founder, Jorge Riano, sat on a panel of four experts at the recent Dig South conference to discuss this topic. The panel discussion was called, “Your future in space: Meeting your workplace needs when you...

GreenBy3 Speaks at Career Day at Pinehurst Elementary School

Jorge had a nice change of pace recently when he was a guest at Career Day for 5th graders at Pinehurst Elementary School in North Charleston. It is great to have the opportunity to talk to kids about what we do at GreenBy3 and about all the things that are important to us — being involved in the community, protecting our environment, and helping people. The more we can share our knowledge and experiences with the next generations, the more positive the impact will be. To explain what GreenBy3 does, Jorge asked the students what type of business they’d like to own someday. There was a lot of response to that one! One girl said she wanted to open a bookstore. Jorge called on others to help build the store. Jorge explained that GreenBy3 coordinates all the people who help build a building while the business owner focuses on her business — in this case, selecting books to sell in the store and helping customers select and buy...
